GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- The Salvation Army is implementing some exciting changes to this year's classic Red Kettle fundraiser.
Among those changes will be a theme song for this year's campaign. That song will be kept under wraps until the Red Kettle campaign kicks off on Friday, November 15th. The unveiling will happen at the "Give Til It Helps" concert at the Baker Book House at 2768 East Paris Ave. SE. The concert will feature performing artist Rawlston Bowles and Bennett.
The November 15th concert will be free, but tickets will be required for admission. You can download tickets at http://sar.my/bakerconcert.
You will also see a new billboard campaign around Grand Rapids, starting on November 15th. The new slogan is "Give till it helps." That quote is a modification of Mother Teresa's "Give, but give until it hurts."
The goal for the Red Kettle campaign in Grand Rapids this year is $1.75 million, a $50,000 increase over the 2012 goal.
