Another Sunny Day

Monday was a marvelous early-January day under mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 20s to near 30F.

Monday night will be clear with winds diminishing from the south-southwest to 4-8 mph overnight. Temperatures will slide into the single numbers and low teens north, low to mid teens south, and mid to upper teens along the lakeshore. Wind chills will be around 5-10°.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and a little warmer with temperatures climbing to around 30° to the low 30s inland and low to mid 30s along the lakeshore. Winds will be east at 6-12 mph inland and southeast at 6-12 mphalong the lakeshore. Wind chills will be in the mid 20s.

Tuesday night, an area of light snow will develop across the region a few hours before midnight. By daybreak, an inch or less is expected to accumulate. Temperatures will dip into the mid 20s. Winds will be light from the east inland and southeast at 5-10 mph along the lakeshore. Wind chills will be in the low 20s.

Wednesday, light snow will continue inland with lake-enhanced snow along the lakeshore where an additional 1-3" is possible. Inland areas will see an inch or less. Temperatures will climb into the upper 20s to around 30° inland and in the low 30s along the lakeshore. Winds will be southwest at 7-14 mph inland and south turning to the west at 8-16 mph along the lakeshore. Wind chills will be in the low to mid 20s.

Lake-effect snow showers are expected Thursday with temperatures in the mid 20s.

Friday will be partly sunny with temperatures in the mid 20s.

More snow is likely Friday night with lake-effect snow showers developing on Saturday. Temperatures will rapidly fall from the upper 20s around midnight Friday and drop into the mid teens by late Saturday. Strong northwest winds will force wind chills into the single numbers.

Sunday will be a blustery day with numerous lake-effect snow showers with temperatures in the mid to upper teens. Some accumulation is likely, especially in those lakeshore areas affected by a northwest wind.

The 6-10 Day Outlook for Sunday, January 11 through Thursday, January 15 calls for below average temperatures and above average precipitation. Average highs are around 29° with average precipitation of .35" and average snowfall of 3.4".

The 8-14 Day Outlook for Tuesday, January 13 through Monday, January 19 calls for below average temperatures and near average precipitation. Average highs are around 29° with average precipitation of .47" and average snowfall of 4.8".
