Round of applause: WZZM 13 takes home 12 Michigan Emmy awards

WZZM 13 takes home 12 Emmy's!

DETROIT, MICH. - The hardworking reporters and photojournalists here at WZZM 13 have outdone themselves yet again.

Between 7 members of the WZZM 13 team, the station was awarded 12 Michigan Emmys, awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) at a ceremony Saturday evening. The station was also named in a 13th win for the Grand Rapids Community College-produced "Cooking with Angus: Mozzarella" which aired on Channel 13.

NATAS and the Emmy award were founded in 1947 to showcase the best in the television industry. According to the NATAS website, it's the only non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievements.

The 39th Emmy Awards were held in Detroit at the MotorCity Casino.
