On Tuesday, the weather went like this: snow one minute and sun the next.

Lake effect snow bands dropped fresh snow all around Muskegon County.

The snowfall totals were far less than forecasted. But the winter storm warning for Muskegon County doesn't expire until early Wednesday morning.

In Muskegon Heights, Willie Sanders shoveled periodically. "Just stay on top of it and you will not have a problem," he said.

In the city of Muskegon, winter parking rules resume on Friday. The city does not allow parking on city street from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.

The parking rules help Muskegon snowplow drivers more efficiently remove snow from the roads.

In Muskegon Township, snowplow driver Richard Laubach has been clearing snow since 7 a.m.

He spent Tuesday pushing back snow piles along side streets.

"Roads start getting smaller and smaller," he says. "so you want to keep everything pushed back."

It's early in the season and Laubach says he's already had drivers crowding his truck. "It is like you have got your light on and people just come flying right up behind you," he said.

Laubach asks driver for space to do his job, and says if they leave their headlights on it will be easier for plow drivers like him to see them.
