Ten days of serious fun begin Thursday, March 9, with a community mannequin challenge at Rosa Parks Circle to kickoff LaughFest 2017.

WZZM 13's Meredith TerHaar spoke with festival director Joanne Roehm to get the scoop. Watch the full interview in the video above.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., then at 6 p.m., the program begins with a group picture. Participants are encouraged to wear yellow or LaughFest gear.

The ten day festival includes free and ticketed events featuring over 100 artists at venues in Grand Rapids, Lowell and Holland.

It's all to support Gilda's Club, a nonprofit organization that offers free emotional support to people living through cancer or grief.
