The Grand Rapids Art Museum is opening a new exhibit, combining art and fashion.

The exhibit, "Transforming Fashion," is the work of Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. Her clothing has been worn by trend-setters like Lady Gaga and Beyonce. The designs often feature futuristic techniques, including three-d printing.

The GRAM curator says the exhibit is a good fit for the museum. "GRAM's mission is also to connect people through art and design and innovation and we just felt like her work so encapsulated those ideas in really remarkable and exciting ways," Ron Platt said.

Transforming Fashion is open at the GRAM through Jan. 15, 2017.
