Ladies! Please join us on June 8 for Let Them Eat Cake! The first Body Positive and Empowerment Event in Grand Rapids that promises to be a convening of fierce and fabulous #bopobabes across West Michigan.

There will be cupcakes, cocktails and much conversation around adopting a more forgiving and affirmative attitude toward our bodies. We have some amazing local leading ladies that will share their stories on how self-love can improve your overall health and well being!

Let Them Eat Cake will help us better understand how to build self esteem through improving ones self-image. Won’t you join us?! There will be a ton of surprises and sweet treats to eat and not a single soul will be judging you!

2.) TWILIGHT: ROASTING LAST CALL CINEMA - Saturday, June 10 @ 11 p.m. to Sunday, June 11 @ 1 a.m.

Join Funny Girls as they provide LIVE movie-mocking commentary to accompany your guilty pleasure film favorites!

3.) CONSTRUCTION TRUCK PETTING ZOO - Saturday, June 10 @ 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Is your child in awe of construction trucks? Would they like to see them up close and in-person? Come explore our petting zoo of real construction trucks on display in the streets in front of the Main Library and the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum.

A variety of trucks will be on display from the Kent County Road Commission and the cities of Grand Rapids, Walker, Kentwood, Wyoming, Grandville, and East Grand Rapids. Hands-on activities and delicious snacks for the whole family! Kids who sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge at the event will receive their free beginner swag bag.

4.) GRAND RAPIDS ASIAN FESTIVAL 2017 - Saturday, June 10 @ 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

We would like to invite you to Grand Rapids’ very first Asian Festival. This inaugural one-day spectacular event will showcase the different cultures, food, arts, music and more that Asia has to offer. Guests will have the chance to join origami and chopsticks workshops as well as interactive dance performances representing cultures from Bollywood to Laos! The Philippines, Korea, India, China, Thailand, Vietnam and other Asian countries will be featured. It will be a melting pot of everything Asian!

Participating restaurants will be serving food from their regular menus… but there will also be some exciting and exclusive festival-only items! From meat on a stick to exploding boba tea, we’ve got food that will take your taste buds on a journey. Plus, you’ll have bragging rights for trying new authentic flavors.

There will be a large variety of entertainment from lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, singers, a ninja hairstylist, and a live Asian band.

Be the star of our karaoke contest and party with DJ Ace Marasigan mixing Asian dance music.

This event is FREE and OPEN to everyone. We will have an interactive kid’s area and a BEER tent selling both local and Asian beer.

5.) RENDEZOO: LET’S FLAMINGLE - Friday, June 9 @ 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Quite possibly Grand Rapids’ best fundraising party! This evening of mingling, food, and entertainment supports the Zoo’s important mission to inspire people to be active participants in the conservation of wildlife and our natural environment. Rendezoo features unique entertainers, a strolling supper, cash bar, music by Funkle Jesse, and a silent and live auction.
