GQ magazine says the Holy Bible isn’t worth reading

Supporters of the 'good book' took to social media to call out the magazine, with some even calling for a boycott.

Was this a mistake of biblical proportions?

Popular men’s magazine GQ is under fire after listing the Holy Bible on their recent article of the “21 books you don’t have to read.” The list is intended to pinpoint books the magazine does not believe have aged well and suggest alternative books to read instead.

Supporters of the “good book” took to social media to call out the magazine, with some even calling for a boycott. Ironically, that same edition of the magazine has been dubbed the ‘Style Bible’ on its cover.

So what does GQ magazine suggest as an alternative? Editors place “The Notebook” by Agota Kristof as a suitable read in place of the Holy Bible. The list also includes infamous works such as “The Catcher in the Rye,” “The Alchemist” and “The Lord of the Rings.”
