Davenport is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2016, an incredible milestone not just for Davenport, but for the community. Other key events in our year-long celebration are the Excellence In Business Gala on May 6, honoring Birgit Klohs and featuring Anderson Cooper, plus a 150th Anniversary Gala on Sept. 29 at DeVos Place. In the past 150 years, thousands of students have passed through our doors and gone on to succeed in their careers and contribute to their communities. Davenport is an important part of Michigan’s history and is positioned to play an even bigger role going forward. Later this year we will publish a history book that takes readers through DU’s 150-year story, authored by Peggy Moceri, the daughter of Robert W. Sneden and granddaughter of M.E. Davenport, and Tom Brown, former provost for DU.
