When a sold-out crowd gathered for the YWCA Open Circle Luncheon on Thursday, March 16, they were able to hear the intimate details of the kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart back in 2002.

15 years later, she was the keynote speaker for the fundraiser helping to change the lives of women and children here in West Michigan.

Amber Jones, Communications Coordinator at the YWCA, shared how they were able to get Smart to share her story in West Michigan.

Smart also spoke with Jennifer Pascua as her role as an advocate for abuse victims, a mother of a young daughter and one on the way and president of the Elizabeth Smart Foundation.
