GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- The time is here when people start thinking a head and picking a date to make your holiday cookies.
Chef Michael Dewicki from the Downtown Market stopped by My West Michigan tell us about upcoming classes that make it all easy for you.
He will be doing a holiday cookie demo from the Holly Jolly Cookie classes, which I'm including the description for below. This is an awesome class for anyone with a big family, or who is hosting a party or doing a cookie exchange for the holidays, as you leave with about 100 delicious cookies and no clean-up responsibilities!
Holly Jolly Cookie classes
Join Santa's elves in his downtown Grand Rapids cookie-making shop to make batches of cookies to share with friends and families this holiday season. In this four-hour class, you will make two dozen each of four different cookies: festive shortbread and lime zest drops, dark chocolate and sour cherry medallions, beautiful prune rugelach cookies, and the ultimate cookie bars with white chocolate, macadamia nuts, and peanut butter. When you finish this class you will leave the mess with us, and take away cookies for all!
• Sat, December 10, 10a-2p
• Sat, December 10, 4p-8p
• Sat, December 17, 10a-2p
• Sun, December 18, 10a-2p
He can also talk abut a couple other upcoming classes:
Thanksgiving Cocktails and Desserts: Beyond the Pie
Nov. 16, 6-8:30 p.m.
Celebrate the indulgences of Thanksgiving with two of our favorite excesses: cocktails and desserts. In this class, you will make the best hot buttered rum batter this land has seen, shake an entire egg in a New York Flip cocktail (trust us, it tastes amazing), and learn how to make a cranberry walnut pear tart.
Cocktails to Leave Santa
Dec. 13, 6-7:30 p.m.
Take a break from holiday shopping and learn how to make the most indulgent cocktails to leave Santa this year. We will be using the flavors that warm the holiday spirit, and will be sure to make your house a favorite stop for the big guy.
