The Grand Rapids Pride Festival is taking place at Calder Plaza on June 17. The week-long event will have multiple activities and events in the city to celebrate Pride.

Billy Gilman, a country singer and runner-up on NBC's "The Voice" will headline the festival. Several other artists will perform including Bonnie McKee and DJ Citizen Jane.

The festival begins at noon in Calder Plaza on Ottawa Avenue and will wrap up at midnight.

In the week leading up to the Saturday festival, there will be other Pride events.

MONDAY -- June 12
There will be a Candlelight vigil honoring the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting on the one year anniversary of the tragedy. That is taking place at 9:00 p.m. at the Apartment Lounge at 33 Sheldon Avenue NE.

TUESDAY -- June 13
Story time at Books and Mortar on Tuesday June 13. The bookstore is located at 955 Cherry Street SE.

There will be a Pride Month celebration at the SpeakEZ Lounge. Cast members of the Circle Theatre's Ladies Night: Legendary Divas! will give a special performance. The celebration goes fro 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

WEDNESDAY -- June 14
There is a Pride fundraiser happening at Garage Bar and Grill. Starting at 5:00 p.m. 15% of all food proceeds will go to the GR Pride Center. There will be live local musicians performing well into the night.

FRIDAY -- June 16
Rumors Night Club is hosting its 3rd annual White Party. That starts at 10:00 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to wear white. Ages 18 and up welcome.

SATURDAY -- June 17
The 3rd annual Pre-Pride Rally: Hand in Hand is taking place at Ah-Nab-Awen Park. The rally starts at 11:30 and kicks off the festival. It will also feature a symbolic march.

After that, the festival itself begins.
