In this gift giving time of the year, it can be hard to know what to do in certain situations, like the workplace. What do you do if a co-worker gives you a gift and you don't have one in return? Or, should you buy a gift for a co-worker who doesn't celebrate Christmas?

Rob Pocock, a professor of communications at Hope College shares some advice.

"I would encourage everyone to learn to become a gracious recipient," said Pocock. "The person gave you a gift because they appreciate who you are and the role you play in their life."

When it comes to buying gifts for co-workers who do not celebrate Christmas? His advice is simple.

"I think that you could give them a holiday gift because all major religions are celebrating a certain holiday season around this time. But, there's also nothing wrong with giving them a gift just out of sheer appreciation." said Pocock.
