A well-known West Michigan greenhouse is becoming even more green.
A 9,000-square-foot solar garden recently was installed at Countryside Greenhouse of Allendale.
It is the largest solar system allowed by Consumers Energy to be placed on an agricultural piece of property and is expected to reduce the greenhouse's electric use by up to 25 percent per year.
Countryside has other green initiatives like a cardboard recycling program and a "rainwater capture" irrigation system.
