It's a sure sign that spring is just weeks away. The West Michigan Home and Garden Show opens, today, at DeVos Place.

The event has been around for nearly four decades helping home owners with ideas and projects around the house.

The show, in its 39th season, takes place each year just before the start of spring. It features 14 gardens, five free seminar stages and over 350 exhibitors to inspire and educate home owners.

This year's seminars include "Decluttering & Organization 101 and Minding Your Matters: Organizing for Emotional Help." Professional organizer and owner of Clean Slate, Kate Wert, will offer advice and tips on decluttering.

The Canning Diva, Diane Devereaux, will also take the Garden to Table Stage to offer tips and tricks on how to grow, enjoy, and preserve fruits and vegetables.

There will also be cooking demonstrations, the uBloom Flower Power Challenge, a pancake breakfast and Family Day over the course of the event.

The West Michigan Home and Garden Show runs March 1 through 4, at DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.

Admission is $10 for a single-day adult ticket. $18 for an all-show ticket, $4 children ages 6 to 14. Children 5 and under get in free.
