As expected, Ottawa County remains our healthiest county, coming in at number one for nearly the fifth year in a row.

While Muskegon County ranks 75 out of 83 for overall health, there is some good news -- 72 percent of women are getting their annual mammography screening. That's higher than the national average at 71 percent and the highest in West Michigan. Unfortunately, the obesity rate has stayed the same at 34 percent.

The national average is 26 percent and the Michigan average is 31 percent.

Kent County comes in at number 12 for the healthiest community, but stayed the same when it comes to obesity at 29 percent. Excessive drinking went up a percentage point to 23 percent. Kent County has the highest out of Kent, Ottawa and Muskegon.

Kent County also ranks low when it comes to mammograms. Only 65 percent of women are getting the yearly screening.

In Ottawa County, the rate of obesity is at 29 percent, excessive drinking at 21 percent and 67 percent of women are getting their yearly mammograms.
