Meijer has announced a recall on a recent shipment of pre-made Caesar salads after discovered they were mislabeled as Greek salads.

According to the Food and Drug Administration public service announcement, the mislabeled salads contain packaged croutons, which is an undeclared wheat allergen not included on the Greek salad kit label. Those with wheat allergies or extreme sensitive are at risk for possibly life-threatening reactions if the product is consumed.

The mislabeled salad kits were distributed to all 230 Meijer locations throughout the Midwest.

The croutons in the Caesar salad kits mistakenly labeled as “Greek Salad” are individually packaged within the salad. No known illnesses associated with these products have been reported to Meijer.

The recalled salads have a sell by date of March 3, 2017 and will be in plastic containers with printed labels that have the UPC 218234-xxxxxx – the last 6 digits will vary.

Customers who have purchased this product can return it to the customer service desk at any Meijer store for a full refund. For additional information, please contact Meijer at (800) 543-3704, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
