Try It Before You Buy It: WYZE Watch

We try out the WYZE watch: It’s a watch that includes a heart rate monitor, fitness tracker, blood oxygen monitor. Does it work? We Try It Before You Buy It!

What time is it?

It's time for us to try out the WYZE smartwatch.

We ordered this online from WYZE for only twenty dollars plus shipping.

It monitors steps, heart rate, blood oxygen and claims to have a nine-day battery life.

Let's Try It Before You Buy It!

In the box, we found the watch and a power cable exclusive to this watch, so don't lose it. It has an aluminum body and feels and looks like a quality product. You can also buy different watch bands if you choose.

To get it to work, you will need a smartphone. Pairing the watch with a phone was simple. We just installed the WYZE app, and it paired it.

Once connected, we had a list of options and different watch faces to pick from. If you have any WYZE smart products like lights, you can control them from your wrist. Unfortunately, there are no in-watch apps, no microphone. It will only vibrate for you. It can display text messages from your phone, but you cannot reply.

First, we took a stroll to test out the steps feature, and it was as accurate as a Fitbit. Next up was the heart rate and blood oxygen monitor. We compared it to a finger device that tests both of them, and the results were the same. There is also a fitness mode that will time your distance and pace while monitoring your heart rate.

The battery did last a long time, so that this thing will be glued to your wrist for well over a week. And it does have a bonus with the "find your phone" feature. But we do wish the reports and tracking were better in the phone app. Everything feels basic and straightforward, like the included watch faces.

Despite its limited feature set, this watch is well worth the twenty-dollar price tag. it would be best if you looked at it as more of a fitness device and not a smartwatch.

So the positives are:

  • Features for the price like Find your phone
  • Long battery life
  • And the price
  •  And the negatives:
  • The available watch faces
  • No ability to respond to messages
  • Special power cable

Despite the negatives, we rate this as a Buy It!
