A 34-year-old Battle Creek man was shot several times Friday but sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Battle Creek police were called at 9:55 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, to the first block of West Rittenhouse Avenue and said the victim was with two others when they were approached by another man who fired several shots at the victim, hitting him and a parked car.

The shooter fled and the victim was taken to the hospital by Lifecare Ambulance and police said he sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Officers searched the area, including use of a tracking dog, but the the suspect was not located.
