Wyoming police and Kelloggsville officials are investigating an altercation that happened between two students Monday, April 17.
The high school said in a statement the incident was not a fight, but instead a, "verbal altercation that resulted in a student being pushed to the ground."
The female victim has taken to social media, posting pictures of her bruised face. She claims she suffered "two black eyes, a concussion and a fractured eye [socket]."
Wyoming Police Captain Kim Koster confirmed they were called to the area of Don Street and Pinehurst Avenue around 3:15 p.m. to investigate an assault.
The school has suspended the student suspected in the attack, but did allow him back on to school property later in the week for a "supervised one-on-one to finish a State mandated assessment." The statement goes on to say one of the students involved has been using social media "to promote false facts about this situation."
The case has been handed over to the Kent County prosecutor's office for pending charges in a juvenile court.
