A man delivering the Battle Creek Enquirer was robbed of his wallet at knife point early Sunday.

Battle Creek police said the carrier called 911 at 3:15 a.m. and said he was robbed in the first block of North LaVista Boulevard near Eldred Street.

He said he was stopped to deliver a newspaper when two men approached and first asked what he was doing and then one produced a knife and demanded the man's wallet. The men then searched the man's vehicle but didn't take anything.

They fled on foot and the carrier drove to a nearby gas station to call police. Officers, along with a department tracking dog, searched the area but didn't find the men.

Both were described as white men in their 20s. One had a goatee and was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and one was wearing glasses and had on a black jacket.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Battle Creek Police Department at 269-966-3322 or Silent Observer at 269-964-3888.
