Police in Kentwood and Wyoming have teamed up to warn the public about a string of overnight car break-ins.

Both agencies report that since May 30, someone has stolen cash, new or high-end electronics and medications from vehicles between the hours of 1 and 6 a.m. Police also report that some cars have been ransacked, but nothing stolen from them.

Police say in Kentwood, the break-ins happened near the Princeton Estates and surrounding neighborhoods; in Wyoming, the thefts happened near the Chateau Hills neighborhood and in the neighborhood along Valleyridge Avenue SW.

The suspects are looking for unlocked cars parked on the street, in driveways and open garages. Police remind car owners to always lock their doors and keep valuables out of plain sight.

Officers didn't provide a clear description of the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact either the Wyoming Department of Public Safety at 616-530-7300 or the Kentwood Police Department at 616-698-6580. You can also reach Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
