Police: Dealership wheel thief arrested in Kent County

The suspect involved in a string of dealership wheel thefts has been arrested, police say.

UPDATE, March 13: The suspect has been identified as Anthony Russo, 30, of Ottawa County.

KENT COUNTY, Mich: Police have arrested the suspect involved in a recent rash of dealership wheel thefts.

The Ionia and Kent county sheriff's offices worked together to apprehend the suspect early Wednesday morning, according to a news release.

Ionia County deputies were tipped off that the suspect was stealing the wheels out of Kent County but operation in Ionia. Deputies responded to Young's Chevrolet of Ionia where a 2018 Chevy Tahoe was wheel-less.

The suspect vehicle was located just inside of Kent County, and when deputies conducted a traffic stop -- they located the stolen wheels inside the bed of the suspect's pick-up truck.

He was arrested and taken to the Kent County Jail where he awaits arraignment on related incidents.

Authorities are investigating the case will present this incident to the Ionia County Prosecutor's Office for charges.
