A family in Oceana County is breathing a sigh of relief after two sisters were found Monday afternoon.
The girls told deputies they ran away from home around 1 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21. Deputies searched for the girls all morning in the Hart and Mears areas.
Clarissa Thomas, 9, returned first, around noon. Her sister Charlotte, 10, was found around 2:15 p.m, after she was found with the help of a Michigan State Police K-9.
Clarissa said she was "looking for her dad," who is currently away on business in North Dakota.
At this time, there doesn't appear to be any misconduct by the parents. But Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast said the investigation into how this occurred is ongoing.
