On Aug. 21, millions of people across the United States will see an amazing sight for the first time in 40 years — a total eclipse of the sun.
Here in West Michigan, we will see the sun about 85 percent eclipsed, which will still be an awesome experience.
WZZM 13 and the Grand Rapids Public Museum are hosting a special ECLIPSE PARTY filled with hands-on activities, a live broadcast on WZZM 13, everything you ever wanted to know about eclipses and safe eclipse viewing between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Come on down and experience this fantastic moment with us!

If you want to learn more about eclipses, you can see “Eclipses and Phases of the Moon” in the Chaffee Planetarium and enjoy these Eclipse Lessens to tide you over until the real thing!
