Fire crews spent the early morning hours on Saturday battling a house fire in Sparta.

According to Kent County Sheriff's Department, the fire started at a home in the 9600 block of Kenowa NW at around 11:30 p.m.

Crews were able to knock down the fire before 2 a.m. but were still on scene attending to hot spots until around 5 a.m.

Dispatchers tells WZZM 13 everyone escaped, but one person was checked out on-scene for minor burns.

Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire.
