Joe Gassmann, also known as Producer Joe, was arrested in DuPage County, Ill. Sunday morning for domestic battery.
Townsquare Media, the parent company of Free Beer and Hot Wings responded to the arrest. "Joe has been suspended and will not be appearing on the show, pending resolution of the police investigation of the matter,” said Rick Sarata of Townsquare Media.
Gassmann is a producer and radio personality with the nationally syndicated morning show Free Beer and Hot Wings. He started as a producer of the show in 2005, and in 2016 he moved onto the role of host.
According to Gassman's staff bio with Free Beer and Hot Wings, he is from the Chicago area. He will appear in court in DuPage County on April 23.
Free Beer and Hot Wings partners with WZZM 13, and Gassmann often appears in a daily segment on our morning show at 5:55 a.m.
