The field trip was put on by the Grand Rapids Public Library, The Rapid and the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative.

A group of about 30 preschoolers and their parents/caregivers went on the Rapid to go to the Grand Rapids Public Library, for a one-of-a-kind field trip.

The kids and their parents then had the opportunity to get their first library cards.

The field trip was put on by the Grand Rapids Public Library, The Rapid and the Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative in lieu of National Reading Month.

The preschoolers all attend the United Methodist Community House in Grand Rapids.

The field trip involved an interactive tour for parents and a story time event for the preschoolers.
