Kate Upton knows how to stand up for her man.
After her fiancé, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander, fell just shy of winning the 2016 American League Cy Young award tonight, the supermodel went on a series of tweets ripping the two Tampa Bay writers who left Verlander off their ballots.
Upton's initial tweet went viral: "Hey @MLB I thought I was the only person allowed to f*** @JustinVerlander ?! What 2 writers didn't have him on their ballot?"
Verlander received 14-of-30 first-place votes, two second-place votes and five third-place votes for 132 points from the Baseball Writers' Association of America. Ex-Tiger Rick Porcello of the Boston Red Sox won with 137 points despite earning eight first-place votes, six fewer than Verlander.
It is the second time Verlander has finished second in AL Cy Young voting. In those two years, he lost by a combined nine points. He won the award in 2011.
Here are the rest of Upton's tweets, moments after Porcello was announced the winner on MLB Network. Verlander's younger brother Ben, a minor-leaguer in the Tigers' system, also had a say on the matter
