ArtPrize and Second Ave Arts continue to forge artist-collector relationships through this fall exhibition.
Collectors Show / FALL 2016 is an exhibition that seeks to forge artist-collector relationships through a three-day showing at the Harris Building (111 Division Ave S) during ArtPrize Eight Preview Week.
The artwork on display consists of fifty contemporary artists including thirty past and present ArtPrize artists that are shown along side some of the most famous and influential artists of the last 100 years -- all curated by New York-based artist, Grand Haven native, and creator of the Collectors Show, Tyler Loftis.
Loftis and ArtPrize Exhibitions Manager Katie Moore came to the WZZM 13 Noon News on Monday, Sept. 12 to discuss the exhibition.
Work will be on display and available for purchase, with 20 percent of the proceeds directly supporting Arts Education programming at ArtPrize in 2017. All artwork will be priced at a guaranteed reduced pricing from certified (or established gallery) pricing.
Featured artists include:
- Phillip Pearlstein (b. 1924)
- Arthur Dove (1880-1946)
- Paul Resika (b. 1928)
- Jane Freilicher (1924-2014)
- Stanley Lewis (b. 1941)
Doors will open at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16 with a reception, and then a DJ and drinks will set the tone for the evening from 9 p.m. to midnight. The exhibition will also be open to the public on Sunday, Sept. 18 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
