A Battle Creek woman is spending her Saturday in jail after stabbing her son and daughter.

According to the Battle Creek Police, around 11:45 a.m. Saturday, police were dispatched to the scene of multiple stab victims in the first block of West Burnham. When authorities arrived they found two victims, a 29-year-old man and his 27-year-old sister.

The victims said their 46-year-old mother, who does not live at the house, came over very intoxicated and started an argument with them. She pulled a knife from her purse and began to "swing it around."

The man said while his mother was swinging the knife, she cut his hand. When his sister attempted to grab her mother and stop her, she was also cut on the hand.

Police say the mother dropped the knife when police arrived. Her son and daughter were treated at the scene.

The 46-year-old woman was taken into custody without further incident. She is being held on two counts of felonious assault.

Police say the incident remains under investigation.
