Police are looking for the killer who shot a man several times near the corner of Madison Avenue and Crawford Street SE, around 9:30 p.m on Monday, Nov. 13.

After receiving reports of shots fired in the area, police found the victim laying on the ground. No one else was there.

The victim was taken to the hospital and had surgery, but did not survive.

Officers used a police dog to track the suspect, but they came up empty. They're now asking the public for any tips they may have to bring the person responsible to justice.

"Everything's valuable even if you don't know or don't think that it's important," said Sgt. Cathy Williams.

"If you heard anything out of the ordinary last night and you're talking to someone who says hey I might call the police department, this information might be important, please do give us a call. You can remain anonymous, but any leads you can give us will certainly help in this investigation."

The Grand Rapids Police Department can be reached by phone at (616) 456-3400. You can also report an anonymous tip through Silent Observer.
