Police in Grand Rapids are investigating after two teenagers were shot on the city's Southeast Side.

Police say they were called on a report of gun shots being fired just before 12:30 a.m. at Delaware and Union streets.

When they arrived, officers found a large party with lots of people running and two teenagers are the ground with gunshot wounds.

A 16-year-old male was shot in the upper torso, and another 16-year-old male was shot in the upper leg. Both teens were taken to the hospital, where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Grand Rapids police say initial reports show suspects fired rounds into the crowd from across the street, then someone from the crowd returned fire. Officers found two handguns at the scene.

A K-9 track was attempted by police to find any suspects, but they were not successful.
