A local school founded by gospel musician Marvin Sapp recently closed its doors, and now equipment from the school will be sold at auction.

The Grand Rapids Ellington Academy of Arts and Technology closed after the 2016-17 school year.

The school had an arts and music theme and as a result, many of the items up for bid are musical instruments. But there is also furniture to be had, along with books, filing cabinets, and other items.

There will be a pre-auction inspection at the school, located at 600 Burton Street SE on Tuesday, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The auction will take place from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28 at biddergy.com.
