Grand Rapids' West Side has welcomed its first whiskey bar that offers American regional dining in a "relaxing and comfortable atmosphere."

On March 23, "One Bourbon" opened in the previous Rocket Lounge at 608 Bridge St. NW.

The drink menu features more than 100 different types of whiskeys and bourbons, as well as beer, wine and signature cocktails.

One Bourbon's interior reflects the hip sensibilities of the surrounding area, with loads of unfinished brick, tin ceilings and Edison lights. The multi-level restaurant offers the choice to observe passers-by in the Oak Room, a swanky whisky room on the 2nd floor, or in the pub area with direct access to the genius' behind the bar, in the main dining area with comfy seating and plenty of light, or outdoors on the large patio covered in art. -

One Bourbon’s menu features American regional favorites and West Michigan-inspired plates with a southern flair made from locally-sourced ingredients. Some of their dishes include fried chicken, bourbon beef poutine and vegetarian shepherd’s pie.

The 6,251-square-foot space will accommodate up to 200 people.
