Investigators say a semi truck driver from Illinois has been ticketed for the crash that injured a Hudsonville woman and a teenager from Wayland.
It happened around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18 near the corner of Chicago Drive and Port Sheldon Street in Jenison.
Deputies say 24-year-old Racan Aldisi failed to yield the right of way causing the crash. 21-year-old Heather Dewey was the driver of the Jeep that collided with the semi.
When we arrived on the scene, the door had been cut off a the Jeep and Dewey had already been removed and taken to the hospital.
16-year-old Timothy Walter was Dewey's front-seat passenger. He was also taken to the hospital. Both of them are expected to be okay. There was also a baby boy in the back seat of the Jeep who was not hurt.
The crash shut down the westbound lanes of Chicago Drive at the Port Sheldon intersection for more than an hour.
