A person of interest in an overnight stabbing is in jail and police are working to figure out what happened.

Officers were called around 1:40 a.m. Saturday, April 15, to the area of Woodbine Avenue and 28th Street SW on a report of an abduction, according to a Grandville Police Department news release.

Police realized upon arrival a man was stabbed to death, and it's believed no abduction actually occurred.

The release states the person of interest called police and is in custody. The victim's nor suspect's names have been released.
