Michigan State Police are investigating an early Sunday morning crash involving a Kent County deputy near Greenville.
It happened about 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, near the intersection of Podunk Road and 14 Mile in northeast Kent County.
Police say the officer was responding to a hit-and-run crash when a Buick Lacrosse, headed southbound on Podunk, ran the stop sign and struck the deputy's vehicle while he was inside.
The Lacrosse was driven by a 20 year old from Belding. Both he and the officer were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to MSP, alcohol and speed were factors in this crash.
