The patients at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital got a very special visit from a man celebrating Christmas in July.

Santa Claus himself rode in on his summertime sleigh to the front doors of the hospital Tuesday afternoon, with a boat full of donated toys.

The toys were provided by Tommy's, a water sports retailer. The Tommy's staff has been collecting toys in a toy drive to give to children at the hospital.

"We cannot believe how much support we've had so far," said Luke Dewys, of Tommy's. "I mean, it's been an incredible experience having people stop into our shop or even ship toys -- we've had people ship toys in from all the way in California just for our toy drive and the children here at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital."

Tommy's has four locations nationwide, including one on West River Drive in Comstock Park.
