UPDATE as of 2:30 p.m. Dec. 19: Police have identified the victim in this crash as Yen Ngo -- she was visiting the Holland area from Rock Island, Illinois.

HOLLAND, Mich. -- An 18-year-old woman bicyclist died after being hit by a car in Holland.

The cyclist was going west on 16th Street when she was hit by a car that was traveling south on US-31. According to witnesses, the car had a green light when the accident took place.

Life saving efforts were attempted at the scene, but the bicyclist died as result of injuries sustained from the crash.

The car was driven by a 21-year-old man, and he did not sustain any injuries in the crash. He was driving a 1998 Ford Ranger pick-up.

The incident is still under investigation.
