Since 1995, people across the United States have taken part in National HIV Testing Day.

This year, the Ottawa County Department of Public Health is offering free testing on National HIV Testing Day, June 27.

The free tests will take place at the department's Holland location, on James Street from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome.

Health department leaders say it only takes a prick of the finger and 20 minutes to get your results back.

People who get tested will receive free condoms and educational material about sexually transmitted diseases, prevention, and treatment.

Other STD services, pelvic and breast exams, birth control and pregnancy testing will be available during normal business hours.
