Holland City Council voted Wednesday night on the next city manager during a special meeting. The city council selected Keith Van Beek .

Van Beek currently serves as the Deputy County Administrator for Ottawa County.

Two candidates out of 60 applicants made it to the final vote. Victor Cardenas, who is currently the assistant city manager in Novi, and Van Beek.

The city says the next step will be for the city council to direct the city attorney to draft an employment agreement that will include a start date.

According to the city, Former City Manager Ryan Cotton retired in June 2017. Greg Robinson was contracted to serve as Interim City Manager through January 31. He opted not to extend the contract. Chief of Public Safety, Matt Messer, was appointed by City Council to serve as the Interim City Manager following Greg Robinson.
