Loaded gun confiscated at Gerald R. Ford International Airport

This is the second gun detected at the Ford Airport this year.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - A 63-year-old woman traveling to Denver was arrested yesterday at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport after security found a loaded gun in her bag.

The 22-caliber handgun was found by TSA at the security checkpoint Wednesday, April 26. An officer saw it as the woman's luggage was being scanned.

Airport police were notified immediately and the woman was arrested on a state charge. She could also face a $9,800 fine.

Nationwide, TSA says it is seeing more guns coming through checkpoints. This is the second gun detected at the Ford Airport this year.
