The West Michigan elementary school principal and his son who were found dead earlier this week, have been laid to rest.

The bodies of 52-year old George Heckman and his 28-year old son Grant were found in a van in Montcalm County on Monday.

Heckman was the the prinicpal at Pewamo Elementary School and was recently appointed as superintendent of the Pewamo-Westphalia School District -- he was to start the position on July 1.

School officials previously told WZZM 13 that Grant was disabled and required 24-hour care, saying he and his father were inseparable.
