The popular storytelling blog Humans of New York will focus on Macomb County following the wake of a heavy Republican turnout on Election Day among its largely blue-collar community.

In a Facebook post Monday night, Humans of New York (also known as HONY) announced an upcoming series that promised to introduce its millions of followers to a few of Macomb County's residents. However, the blog promises it won't take a strong focus on politics.

The entirety of the post reads:

As of Tuesday afternoon, the post had more than 7,000 Facebook shares.

"I'm very curious to see what they say! This election has opened my eyes to a section of the population that has obviously felt left behind and left out. Understanding and empathizing with their struggles and stories will be the path forward to progress and unity," one commenter said.

Humans of New York started in November 2010 as a project by photographer Brandon Stanton and has amassed a huge following on social media with more than 18 million Facebook followers, 6 million Instagram followers and 300,000 Twitter followers.

The blog typically follows a one-photo format with a story, offering a glimpse into the lives of strangers from more than 20 countries.
