A judge denied a motion to remove a Muskegon County judge from the murder trial of Jeffery Willis.
Lawyers for Willis want Muskegon County District Court Chief Judge Raymond Kostrzewa to recuse himself from the high-profile kidnapping and murder case.
Willis is accused of kidnapping and killing Jessica Heeringa, who disappeared in April of 2013. Her body has never been found.
Judge Kostrzewa already rejected a defense motion to remove himself from future proceedings. Now, Willis' lawyers want that decision reviewed, because Kostrzewa once worked in the Muskegon County Prosecutor's Office.
Bradley Knoll, who is the Chief Judge in Ottawa County District Court, made the announcement about the hearing just after 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3.
