On this Thanksgiving Day, hundreds will gather at DeVos Place in Grand Rapids to share a holiday meal that they might not have otherwise.

For the 21st year, Mel Trotter Ministries is holding a Thanksgiving community meal. More than 1,000 attendees and hundreds of volunteers are expected.

The family-style meal will be served by nearly 750 volunteers. Dinner includes 1,500 lbs. of turkey, 1,260 lbs. of mashed potatoes, 50 gallons of gravy, 200 pies and many more delicious sides and desserts. The meal begins Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and goes until 1:30 p.m. at DeVos Place.
