One Good Thing: La'Daruis Jefferson's Message

In sports - and in life - it's important to be graceful in defeat. It's maybe more important to be graceful in victory. And today's One Good Thing is a great example of sportsmanship and being a good winner.

In sports - and in life - it's important to be graceful in defeat. It's maybe more important to be graceful in victory. And today's One Good Thing is a great example of sportsmanship and being a good winner.

This is a Facebook post from the 'Go Muskegon' page, which follows Big Reds Football. It shows a picture of star quarterback La'Darius Jefferson right after the Big Reds beat Harrison in the state title game last weekend. According to the post, Jefferson asked to talk to the Hawk team about losing.

La'Darius told them, "We know how it feels to lose. In my city, we lose people every day – gun violence, gang violence. So, love each other up, stick together, be a brotherhood. I mean, because these are all you got – brothers to the left and right of you are all you got. So cherish this moment. Wins or losses, you'll still be great young men."

The 'Go Muskegon' page calls La'Darius Jefferson a true leader, on and off the field. We tend to agree. That young man gets today's One Good Thing.
