The Michigan Secretary of State is offering instructions to first-time voters today in West Michigan.
Representatives with the SOS are teaming up with Grand Rapids Public Schools to teach those new voters how to cast their ballots on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Students enrolled in certain courses at Union High School will participate in a mock election where they will learn how to properly mark a ballot and rules of conduct at polling places.
According to Politico, more than 50 million new people have registered to vote in the past eight years. There are roughly 69 million millennial adults between 18 and 35, in the United States. They make up about 31 percent of the voting population.
