Police arrested an Allen Park man whose Donald Trump campaign yard sign was damaged Saturday night after he pulled a gun on some nearby children, Fox 2 Detroit WJBK-TV reports.

The man told police he didn't see the kids damage it, but he heard them outside, "saw the sign ruined and the kids running," according to the TV station, adding that he told police he pulled an unloaded gun and had felt threatened and outnumbered.

Channel 7 WXYZ-TV reports that the six children were ages 12-14, and the man chased them to a playground where he made them sit in the grass while pulled the gun and he cursed at them.

He faces six counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and was released from jail on a $5,000, 10% bond, according to the Fox 2 report.

The police chief's office with Allen Park Police Department didn't immediately respond to a Free Press request for comment.
